How VALORANT tournaments run on Fragnet

VALORANT tournaments are 5v5 custom games. The organizer creates the lobby, sets tournament mode if they want the competitive ruleset and observer slots, and passes the code to the ten players who are actually meant to be in it. Amateur events live or die on whether all ten arrive at the same time with the code in hand.

The organizer enters the room ID and password once when they publish. Both stay encrypted until a set number of minutes before start — 15 by default — and then unlock for confirmed players only. Nobody pastes a code into a channel half the lobby cannot read, and nobody joins a room they were never approved for.

VALORANT formats you'll see

5v5 standard

Full competitive rules, first to 13. Best-of-one keeps an eight-team event inside an evening; best-of-three roughly doubles it, so budget the hours before you promise a format.

1v1 aim duels

Single-map duels on a fixed agent and weapon. Fills fast, needs no roster, and is the easiest VALORANT event to run solo.

Open-rank vs capped

Organizers often cap by rank so a Radiant stack cannot farm a Silver bracket. The skill tier on the listing tells you which kind of event you are entering.

Prizes in VALORANT events

Cash pools are most common, with some organizers offering VP (VALORANT Points) topped up to the winning account instead. Fragnet displays the organizer's stated figure and nothing more — we never hold it, and we cannot recover it. Look for a listing that names the payout method and a timeframe.

Hosting a VALORANT tournament

  • Set the map pool and the veto procedure up front. "Standard veto" means different things to different people.
  • Decide your overtime and pause rules before the first match, not during a dispute.
  • Enable tournament mode if you want observers — retrofitting it mid-event means recreating the lobby.
  • Fragnet does not record scores, so agree a screenshot convention and name who arbitrates a disagreement.

VALORANT tournament FAQ

Do I need a full five-stack to enter a VALORANT tournament?
For 5v5 events, yes — you register as a team, and you can build a roster with a captain, members and substitutes before you request a slot. 1v1 events you enter on your own.
How does the custom lobby code reach me?
It unlocks on the event page shortly before start, for confirmed players only. The organizer sets how early — commonly 15 minutes, sometimes 30 for events with a warmup.
Are there VALORANT tournaments for unranked or lower-rank players?
Yes. Organizers set a skill tier on each event, from open-to-all through to pro, and you can filter Discover by it. Beginner and open events are common.
