How League of Legends tournaments run on Fragnet

League of Legends tournaments are 5v5 custom games, usually tournament draft. The organizer creates the lobby and passes the password to the ten registered players. Matches run long — 30 to 40 minutes is normal — so the match count, not the team count, is what decides whether your event finishes.

The organizer enters the room ID and password once when they publish. Both stay encrypted until a set number of minutes before start — 15 by default — and then unlock for confirmed players only. Nobody pastes a code into a channel half the lobby cannot read, and nobody joins a room they were never approved for.

League of Legends formats you'll see

5v5 tournament draft

Full draft with bans. Best-of-one for the early rounds unless you have all day.

Clash-style groups

Small groups feeding a short knockout. Fits an evening better than a large single-elimination bracket.

Rank-capped events

Organizers frequently cap average rank. The skill tier on the listing tells you what you are entering.

Prizes in League of Legends events

Cash or RP (Riot Points). Stated and settled by the organizer — Fragnet holds nothing and takes nothing.

Hosting a League of Legends tournament

  • Budget 40 minutes per match, plus draft. This is the format organizers most often under-schedule.
  • Set the draft mode, the server and the rank cap explicitly.
  • Define a remake and pause policy before you need one.
  • Link your bracket from the listing; Fragnet does not build one.

League of Legends tournament FAQ

How long does an amateur LoL tournament take?
Longer than most organizers plan for. At roughly 40 minutes a match plus draft, an eight-team single-elimination Bo1 is already a full evening.
How do I get the custom lobby password?
It unlocks on the event page shortly before start, for confirmed players only.
Are there rank-restricted LoL events?
Often. Each listing declares a skill tier, and you can filter Discover by it.
