Fragnet vs start.gg

start.gg is the standard for fighting-game events and it is very good at that job. If you run an FGC bracket, use it. Fragnet is aimed at the events it serves least well.

Choose start.gg if…

  • You are running a fighting-game event of any size. This is not a close call — the scene, the phase system and the bracket tooling are all there.
  • You need pools feeding a top 8, with seeding and progression handled for you.
  • You want entry fees collected on the platform.
  • You need a bracket players can follow live.
  • Your entrants already have accounts there, which for FGC they do.

Choose Fragnet if…

  • Your event is mobile-first — BGMI, Free Fire, CODM, Mobile Legends — where the whole event runs on a custom room rather than a bracket.
  • Your event is a points-based battle royale, which is not a bracket at all.
  • The operational problem is room credentials and check-in, not progression.
  • You want no platform involvement in entry fees whatsoever.

What we can’t tell you

We have not run a large paid event on their platform, used their paid or enterprise tiers, or tested their support. This compares documented capability and published pricing only. Pricing changes — follow the link and check it yourself rather than trusting a number on our page.

Common questions

Should I move my FGC local off start.gg?
No. For fighting-game brackets it is the better tool and the scene is already there. Some organizers additionally list on Fragnet for discovery and use the QR check-in at the door.
Why does Fragnet list TEKKEN 8 and Street Fighter 6 then?
Because organizers run them and players look for them. What Fragnet adds for those events is the listing, the approval queue and door check-in — not the bracket.

For the events brackets don’t fit

Custom rooms, battle royale points series, and weekly ladders.
