Apex Legends tournaments are built around three-player squads. Organizers with tournament-server access run private lobbies; everyone else runs a points-based event across public matches. Which one you are entering should be obvious from the listing, and if it is not, ask.

The organizer enters the room ID and password once when they publish. Both stay encrypted until a set number of minutes before start — 15 by default — and then unlock for confirmed players only. Nobody pastes a code into a channel half the lobby cannot read, and nobody joins a room they were never approved for.
